Dear whoever

I’m complaining because the BBC seems to allow any political hack to slander serious journalists live on your various channels without checking their facts.

A solicitor’s letter is on its way to Charmless Charlie Wheelsoff, but to be honest I’m sick of first Mandelson, then Balls then Bradshaw coming onto various BBC programmes and slagging off my website, about which they know 150% of nothing.

So for the fifth time, www.notbornyesterday.org is not an ‘extreme right-wing blog printing fantasies and lies’.

I’ve voted Tory once in my life. Normally I vote left-of-centre, but what that’s got to do with the price of chips I’m not sure: the site offers news and views in an attempt to show people what specious and dangerously incorrect conclusions and statistics are frequently presented as facts by those in UK public life. It argues for a more honest, democratic and libertarian political system, which explains fairly succinctly why politicians don’t like it very much.

You lot letting mendacious has-been spin-twits come on and spread yet more smears and myths isn’t helping any.

For the record:

At the beginning of September, nby published this piece. The depression evidence has been denied several times by Number Ten, but is based on corroborative medical opinion, excellent senior sources and sound research - not fantasies. The blindness element was also denied by No 10….and has since been almost entirely vindicated by the PM’s attempted secret hospital visits, further retinal tears, and an apparent inability to see what he’s writing to grieving mothers about.

Unless you’re about to go the way of French television and start toeing the Government line (at which Robert Peston is already an expert) I’d like an apology please.

It is a great shame that there are Carter Rucks all over the place for the powerful – but none for the citizen.
